Master Tithe honors our Master, Jesus Christ by providing a useful service for His Church. As Christians we understand His warning to the money changers never to exploit His people in fulfilling their desire to give to His Church. We also use the word tithe and gift interchangeably.
Let’s lay one objection aside upfront, Master Tithe does not advocate the use of credit cards for giving and only in special cases will we accept plastic as a form of giving. Instead we offer a method of bank to bank transfer without the credit card networks.
Christians want to give online to their church. Here is why.
Christians are just ordinary people like you… They use the Internet just like non-Christians. From recognized studies the truth is that Christians as a group are statistically indistinguishable from non-Christian. This is true in all life areas such as divorce, charity, personal health and exercise, gambling, purchasing lottery tickets, boycotting products there is no difference between Christian and non-Christian behaviors. Even with problems such as smoking and alcohol Christians are nearly identical to those of the non-Christian. Christian voting choices are practically identical as well. Christians use the Internet exactly like non-Christians. They pay their bills, buy ticket, book hotels and airline flights, and they shop online. They read email just like everybody else.
While not flattering of the Christian community the above is true. It is our beliefs that make us different. We may experience all the same life issues but Christians have a definite different belief system. The fact remains, if a church wants to maintain or increase giving it must use the online giving channel because people want it. Whether in the plate or online what matters is that we are providing useful method for giving that honors God and respects the giver.
Christians may conduct our lives and have the same issues as non-Christian but our beliefs set us apart. At Master Tithe we understand the Christian mind and heart and have no desire to contribute to activities that would cause a person to stumble. That is why we don’t accept credit cards as a rule.
We want to speak to two groups: The church laity or members and to the leadership and ministers. While all are members we understand church leadership and ministers have more responsibilities particularly in stewardship.
